Coaches Meeting and Practice Fall 2010
The Club
will hold a Coaches and New Parents meeting the week of August 16th.
Official practice starts the week of August 28th unless you are in one of the two preseason tournaments then practice can start two weeks prior to the tournament. The earliest tournament is the Rio Open August 28th, practice can start August 14th. The coaches and new parent meeting will be held the week of August 16th and field assignments will done at that time. We request that teams needing to practice please share the field until field assignments are made.
Skills Night
The Club
holds
Skills Training with Coach Miguel Chavez on Friday nights at
5:30PM-7:00PM beginning Friday, August 27, 2010.
These session are free and open to all
Club members, and are a great way to improve your ball handling
skills. This is also a fantastic opportunity for new and
experienced coaches to get some ideas for drills to run with
your players.
Keeper Training
Wednesday nights 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., starting on
September 8, 2010, through October 27, 2010, on Field W9,
with Goalkeeper trainer Tom Jones. These sessions are open
(and free) to any club member looking to improve their goal
keeping skills.
Coaching Education
New Mexico Youth Soccer Association
(NMYSA) offers many free
training courses to benefit coaches of all age players. New coaches
should attend the Youth Module I training within their first year of
becoming a coach.
