4. When does soccer start and end?

The 2010 Fall Regular Season begins September 11th, 2010.

5. Where are practices held?

Field assignments will be made at the Coaches meeting the week of August 16th. Each team will be assigned to a practice field located at the Corrales Recreation Center, 500 Jones Road, Corrales, New Mexico. Thereafter, the coach will notify the players of the time, dates and location of practices.

6. Can my team practice at a field other than at the Corrales Recreational Center fields?

Yes, however, in advance of a practice being held elsewhere, the coach must notify the Club President of the location of the practice, to ensure that the coach and players are covered by the organization’s insurance policy.

7. My child wants to play soccer in the fall but not in the spring. Is this possible?

The Club does not have a schedule to accommodate this request. The registration fee covers the fall and spring season. Thus, players are strongly discouraged from registering for only one season. If there is room on a team, a player may register in the spring but will be required to pay the full registration fee.

8. Can my child play on a competitive team and a recreational team?

Yes, provided that the parents and the coach of each team approve the multiple roster form. Click here for the form.

9. Can my child play on a team in an older age bracket?

Players who wish to be rostered on a team above their normal age group, may do so provided the coach, player, and the player’s parent/guardian sign the Playing Up Consent Form. Click here for the form.

A player may not play down in age group unless authorized by NMYSA under US Youth Soccer Rule 105.

10. What are the requirements to become a coach?

Coaches must be certified no later than after their first year of coaching. Coaching clinics are held throughout the year. For more information about coaching, click here to contact the Director of Coaching, Tony Bravo.

11. How do I cancel a scheduled match (conflicting schedules, playing in a tournament, etc.)?

Contact the opposing coach

E-mail the League Referee Scheduler (or call the league referee line 573-5255) at least 24 hours in advance

Teams must arrange for a referee for a rescheduled game. Contacting the League Referee Scheduler at least 24 hours in advance is necessary to ensure that a referee does not show up to the cancelled game, and enables a referee to be paid by the League for the rescheduled game. Otherwise, the coach(es) are responsible for paying the referee for the rescheduled game. The League Referee Scheduling phone number is 573-5255, which the League Referee Scheduler checks frequently.

Contacting the League Referee Scheduler is not necessary for weather cancellations.

12. How do I reschedule a cancelled match?

  • Contact the Club President once the game is set to verify the field is available
  • Call the coach you want to play
  • E-mail the League Referee Scheduler (or call the league referee line 573-5255) to schedule a referee.
  • Hit the pitch.

Contacting the Club President is necessary to confirm that an open field can be scheduled for the make up game.

13. My team wants to play in a tournament. What do we need to do?

You must follow the e-travel requirements.  Click here for further information.  All teams that will be traveling to sanctioned tournaments must be in good standing and have a certified referee before the League will permit tournament travel/play.

14. How do I become a referee?

Every team is required to have a certified referee. Referee Clinics are held throughout the year, typically in February and August. For more information, check the New Mexico Soccer Referee Association website.

15. How do I sign up to referee a match?

Referees must be scheduled using the NWRGSL website. Click here to login to the referee website.

16. Where are the fields for matches?

Click here for the field descriptions and maps.

17. I don't have a key to the shed what do I do?

Keys are generally only given to coaches or assistant coaches. Contact the Club President for a key.

18. Can we use the nets for practice?

Yes, using the nets can be very beneficial for the kids. We encourage you to use the nets. This also supplies the opportunity to practice setting up the nets and taking them down. Please do not totally remove the nets from the pipes when you take them down.

19. When I take down the nets, should I leave the netting on the top support or pull if off?

LEAVE IT ON THE TOP CENTER SUPPORT. Just wrap the netting around that support and stow in the bag.
