Match Cancellation and Rescheduling Process

If you need to cancel a scheduled match (conflicting schedules, playing in a tournament, etc.):

  1. Contact the opposing coach (contact information is listed in the NWRGSL Newsletter)
  2. E-mail the League Referee Scheduler (or call the league referee line 573-5255) at least 24 hours in advance

Teams must arrange their own referee for a rescheduled game. Contacting the League Referee Scheduler at least 24 hours in advance is necessary to ensure that a referee does not show up to the cancelled game, and enables a referee to be paid by the League for the rescheduled game. Otherwise, the coach(es) will be responsible for paying the referee for any rescheduled game. As of Fall 2005, the League Referee Scheduler is Geoffrey Kang. The League Referee Scheduling phone number is 573-5255, which the League Referee Scheduler checks frequently.

Contacting the League Referee Scheduler is not necessary for weather cancellations.

Contacting the Club President is necessary to confirm that an open field can actually be scheduled for the make up game and is not already promised elsewhere.

Remember that you must contact your Club's League Commissioner for permission to travel to tournaments outside the district. Also you must contact your Club Registrar to obtain forms for obtaining League/State Rosters for tournaments. These forms must be submitted to the League 30 days prior to the tournament. All teams that will be traveling to sanctioned tournaments must be in good standing and have a certified referee before the League will permit tournament travel/play.
